The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) Industry Workforce Advisor program can support your business to gain the tools and capability to manage your workforce effectively from attraction and recruitment, through to retention.

Our Industry Workforce Advisor Kym Wessling is available to help you to identify workforce challenges and potential solutions to improve business growth, sustainability and diversity.

About the program
QFF has been engaged by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training as the Industry Workforce Advisor (IWA) for agriculture and horticulture.

Industry Workforce Advisors have been established under the Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032 to help small to medium employers identify workforce challenges and connect with available support and funding.

The program:
- is free
- provides tailored advice specific to your business
- is easy to complete.
Through the program, our Industry Workforce Advisor will support your business to:
- identify workforce challenges and potential solutions
- develop strategies to attract and retain people
- tap into a diverse group of potential employees
- identify staff training and development needs
- complete a simple workforce plan
- access funding (small businesses only) available through the Workforce Connect Fund to develop innovative HR solutions.
How does the program work?
- Step 1 – Fill in the Expression of Interest form.
- Step 2 – Develop a tailored workforce plan with the QFF Industry Workforce Advisor.
- Step 3 – Be connected with workforce initiatives, funding opportunities and industry stakeholders.
- Step 4 – Implement and monitor workforce activities.
- Step 5 – Measure your successes.

Workforce Planning Connect Resources
Jobs Queensland in collaboration with the Queensland Farmers’ Federation have developed a suite of free workforce planning resources for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Queensland agriculture sector.

The resources have been designed to help Queensland agriculture SMEs:
- understand the benefits and advantages of workforce planning
- build knowledge and understanding of workforce planning
- grow capability and skills in workforce planning.
