QFF are conducting free energy audits through the QBEST Ag Program to support farms reduce their energy spend. Participating farms can receive an ‘appliance’ energy audit or a ‘whole of farm’ energy audit, dependent on their needs.
The first QBEST energy audit report has been produced, with potential annual energy savings of over 24,000kWh and $8,700 identified. If the recommendations are implemented, the farm will reduce its Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by over 20 tonnes (t-CO2-e) per year.
Implementing the recommendations is likely to reduce the energy consumption of the farm to below the large electricity customer threshold, which may assist in reducing energy bills further.
Interested in receiving an audit yourself? Learn more about the program here or contact QBEST Ag Project Officer Andres Jaramillo to express interest in participating.
