Economic development organisation Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise’s (TSBE) agribusiness arm, Food Leaders Australia, has partnered with Queensland’s leading agricultural peak body, the Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF).
TSBE’s Food Leaders Australia exists to support agribusinesses tap into emerging markets, nurture new and existing industries, and embrace sustainability practices, all while developing community engagement and education.
The organisation also advocates for increased government support to ease market entry, streamline regulatory processes, and forge local partnerships to differentiate Australian products and enhance trade relationships.
“The Toowoomba and Surat Basin region is a powerhouse of agricultural production and home to a number of strong rural and regional communities” Jo Sheppard said.
“The diversity of agricultural production coming out of the region is impressive ranging from cotton, horticulture and nursery through to beef, grains and intensive industries all of which are supported by an incredibly strong supply chain of goods and services.”
“QFF look forward to working with TSBE to advocate on a number of priorities for the region that are consistent with agricultural priorities across the state including water security, food security and biosecurity.”
TSBE’s Food Leaders Australia General Manager Rowena Beveridge: “We are excited to be partnering with QFF. By collaborating, we hope to be able to lend our voice in advocating for improved outcomes on the issues that most affect our rural and regional economies.”
