The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) has welcomed CarbonLink as our newest corporate partner, further strengthening QFF’s commitment to fostering sustainability and innovation in Queensland’s agriculture sector.
Through this partnership, QFF and CarbonLink will work together to support farmers in navigating the evolving carbon economy, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to enhance productivity, and contribute to environmental outcomes.
CarbonLink is a pioneer in carbon farming, dedicated to helping farmers build a sustainable future for their land, businesses, and communities. Backed by cutting-edge research and development, CarbonLink works alongside landholders to improve soil health, increase resilience, and unlock opportunities in the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) market. Their expert Carbon Farming Advisors (CFAs) provide tailored, science-based guidance to ensure producers can make informed decisions about carbon sequestration and sustainable land management practices.
Dr Terry McCosker OAM, Director of CarbonLink, said:
“The carbon economy can be a daunting space for many farmers. We are pleased to partner with QFF to help explain both the challenges and opportunities, ensuring that landholders can make confident, informed decisions,” Dr McCosker said.
“CarbonLink is committed to supporting Queensland farmers in understanding and accessing emerging carbon farming initiatives that enhance both environmental and economic outcomes.”
A key focus of the partnership will be supporting the uptake of soil carbon projects and engaging with farmers on key policy developments, including the 2021 Method Review and upcoming Integrated Farm Land Management (IFLM) schemes. CarbonLink and QFF will also work together to advocate for greater government funding opportunities to assist landholders in entering the ACCU market, improving access to climate adaptation programs, and ensuring fair tax treatment for those contributing to nature-positive solutions.
QFF CEO Jo Sheppard said:
“QFF actively seeks strong partnerships across sectors to deliver positive outcomes for our peak agriculture body members and Queensland’s agriculture sector,” Ms Sheppard said.
“CarbonLink’s deep knowledge in carbon sequestration and sustainable land management aligns closely with QFF’s mission to support farmers in managing their operations responsibly while ensuring economic resilience.
“We look forward to working together to drive education, advocacy, and real-world solutions that benefit our members and the broader agriculture sector.”
Together, QFF and CarbonLink are working to recognise responsible natural resource management as an integral part of sound farm business management.
Through providing education, policy support, and opportunities for farmers to participate in sustainable practices, this partnership will contribute to a stronger, more resilient future for Queensland agriculture.
