The Ekka is Queensland’s largest annual event, showcasing animal competitions, fashion parades, and vegetable and nursery exhibits in celebration of Australian agriculture. More than 400,000 people are expected to come together to celebrate this year in the heart of Brisbane.
QFF industry member Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland (NGIQ) will be presenting the Potted Plants competition, which covers all different kinds of plants from ferns and palms to bonsai, cacti and orchard. A diversity of flowering plants will also be on display in the flower and garden exhibits. QFF industry member The Flower Association of Queensland is proud to help facilitate the event. The hunt is also on for Brisbane’s Best Beard to walk in the People’s Day Grand Parade. The winning man will have his beard decorated with flowers and will receive a Double Pass to Ekka. More information HERE.
Celebrating Queensland-grown wool and cotton, this year’s fashion parades will pay homage to all things natural with a ‘Back to Nature’ theme.
