Growers in the Goondiwindi, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Toowoomba regional council areas are encouraged to join the free EnergySQ program before it concludes.
The EnergySQ program will help you understand and identify ways to reduce your on-farm energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and will provide you with an Energy and Carbon Action Plan.
As of December 2024, 80 farms had signed up to the program with the QFF project team identifying a potential 1,222,963 kWh per annum of electricity savings, 218,916 litres per annum of diesel fuel savings and 412 GJ per year of gas savings across 51 farms that had received their Energy and Carbon Action Plan.
EnergySQ participants include horticulture, cotton, livestock, grain and dairy farms across the program’s footprint. 13 vineyards and wineries have participated in the program including Jester Hill Wines and Savina Lane Wines who have discussed the benefits of the program in the videos below.
To express your interest in participating in the program visit the project page here and fill out the form or contact the team via phone at (07) 3837 4701 or email at energysq@qff.org.au.
