The Queensland Farmers’ Federation’s (QFF) Agricultural Extension Work Placement Program (AEWPP) connects early career extension professionals with host agribusinesses or natural resource management organisations to assist landholders in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) catchment areas.
QFF are now accepting applications from recent trainees from university and other institutions or those from other fields of expertise who wish to become an extension officer. Work placements will begin in February 2024.
Develop your skills to deliver agricultural and natural resource management projects with landholders in the GBR catchments, developing expertise in one or more of the following areas: land management, water quality, soil health and conservation, nutrient and pest management, environmental monitoring.
Working within a host organisation, you will have the opportunity to gain mentorship from experienced advisors and tap into local networks to kickstart your extension career.
