The future of Queensland agriculture is getting a technology boost thanks to the launch of the Agricultural Digital Support Work Placement Program.
The program kicked off in March with eight enthusiastic AgTech Officer trainees joining forces with eight committed Host Organisations for their inductions in Brisbane.
Day one saw Jeanette Long from Ag Consulting Co. guide the trainees through the exciting world of extension, AgTech, and understanding the needs of producers. Day two, facilitated by Tim Bradley and Renée Anderson from Queensland Farmers’ Federation, focused on building a personalised training plan for each AgTech Officer. These plans will bridge their skill gaps and equip them to confidently deliver assistance and training to producers and agribusinesses as they embrace digital technologies.
The program is a 12-month journey, with a mid-term workshop to assess progress and a final graduation ceremony where the AgTech Officers will showcase their experiences through a 3-minute video.
The program is actively seeking even more Host Organisations to join this impactful initiative. We have a talented pool of AgTech Officers eager to put their skills to work and help transform the industry.
