- Over 25 landholders recently attended a Low Stress Stock Handling (LSS) workshop expert trainer Chook Kealey organised by the Fitzroy Basin Association. - The Office of the Great Barrier Reef has recently launched the new Reef 2050 Water Quality Improvement Plan website. It features new content aimed to get people thinking, help them understand the science, generate questions and break down barriers to change. Check it out HERE.
- Local community groups along the Great Barrier Reef have been awarded $1.4 million under the Community Reef Protection Grants Stage One for projects that will contribute to improving Reef health. Read the Great Barrier Reef Foundation‘s media release HERE.
- The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is hosting a two-day Think Tank for extension officers working in Reef catchments in Townsville this May. It starts with a half-day peer-to-peer training workshop followed by a one-and-a-half-day ‘Unconference’. It’s free and includes plenty of networking opportunities.
