- QFF member CANEGROWERS have launched a new podcast series “ShedTalk” to discuss topical issues of interest to growers, with the first episode discussing the current explosion in the rat population and its impact on growers in the Herbert River region.

- QFF member Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers (QFVG) has recently established two new collaborations forming part of QFVG’s Farm Business Resilience Program (FBRP).Learn more about QFVG’s collaborations with the Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland and FNQ Food Incubator.
- Queensland farmers continue to work to improve on farm safety, with many producers utilising the free Emergency Plus app which uses your phone’s GPS functionality to assist in providing precise critical location details to emergency services. Download the app here.
- Queensland farmers have been recognised in the 2023 Australia Farmer of the Year Awards. Queensland horticulturalist Ray Taylor has taken out the award for Excellence in Technology and Dr. Robert Magarey from Sugar Research Australia took out the Excellence in Ag Research Prize for a discovery that may save the sugar industry roughly $50 million annually.
- The Inaugural Nature-Based Solutions Conference & Expo is being held from 17 – 19 July at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
