- As the flood emergency continues in SEQ and Northern NSW, QFF is working with DAF and members to obtain early data on flood-damaged properties. Industry is contacting farmers to ascertain damage, losses and immediate needs. Farmers with online access can share their information with the Disaster Impact Survey HERE
- The Australian Government has announced Disaster Recovery Payments for persons in the Gympie and North Burnett regions, and it is anticipated that this may be extended to other impacted regions. See information about the payments HERE
- Recommendations from the Senate Inquiry into meat definitions and plant-protein packaging have been released. View the full report and 9 recommendations HERE. The recommendations deal with plant proteins and non-dairy “milks” using descriptors normally associated with products from an animal. There are also recommendations that the Federal Government give more support to the growing plant protein industry.
- Queensland farmers can now access Round 2 of rebates for the installation of overhead warning markers which indicate powerlines, making their rural workplaces safer. Round 2 opens 1 March. For more information about the rebate and eligibility criteria, visit HERE
- Building on the success of the 2021 pilot program, AgriFutures Australia is rolling out Round 3 of the Producer Technology Uptake Program to support eligible producer groups and Agricultural High Schools to increase adoption of technology solutions on-farm. More info and apply HERE
- As QFFs Energy Audit Program wraps up proving that Real Energy Savings can be made by implementing new technology, like that of soil moisture sensors, it poses the question of what technology can further improve energy efficiency.
