- QFF has welcomed funding to deliver a Farm Business Resilience Plan project that will build the strategic management capacity of farmers. The program, funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, will identify vulnerabilities for participating farms to improve the resilience of the Queensland agriculture sector. - QFF has partnered with the Queensland Government to offer a 50 per cent co-contribution up to a maximum of $25,000 to match farmers’ funds to establish or expand their operations into agritourism and share where Queensland’s high-quality food, fibre and foliage comes from and how it is produced. QFF has also formed the Intensive Animal Industry Policy Committee to ensure a collective voice and add weight to engagement and collaboration with government on common issues. - Residents of Inglewood who have been impacted by flooding over recent days may be eligible for financial assistance, including Emergency Hardship Assistance grants of up to $180 per person and $900 for a family of five. More information HERE.
- The Queensland Government has released 110,000 megalitres of general reserve unallocated surface water within the Flinders River Catchment Area, of the Gulf Water Plan Area. This release intends to support and increase agricultural capacity in the area and help drive prosperity, jobs, and growth. More information HERE.
- Businesses can now apply for infrastructure grants to fund new services that will divert waste from landfill and convert it into healthy soils and compost. The grants will support new and improved organic waste recycling infrastructure to divert food organics and garden organics waste from landfill. Apply HERE.
- The Queensland Department of Environment and Science have released their Annual strategic compliance priorities for 2021–2022, with waste management and waste levy compliance, Coal Seam Gas and the Great Barrier Reef at the top of the list. Read more HERE.
