- Growcom has enthusiastically welcomed confirmation from the Federal Government that a new Australian Agriculture visa will be in place by the end of September. A new visa category to help better meet the growing seasonal harvest labour needs has long been advanced by Growcom and the case for the visa has only gotten stronger. Read more HERE.
- To reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, the Queensland Government is actively encouraging farmers and agribusinesses to cease their plans to cross into or from New South Wales. - Phase two of the national quad bike safety standard begins on 11 October 2021 and requires all new and imported second-hand general use quad bikes to be fitted with an operator protection device or have one integrated into their design, and to meet minimum requirements for stability. - Drought Resilience Innovation Grants are now available through the Future Drought Fund to support projects that help Australian farmers and agricultural-dependent communities and businesses to adopt innovative approaches and technology to improve drought resilience.
