- One of Australia’s biggest agricultural events is on this week- the annual Cotton Conference. Held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, this year will be even more special with the event celebrating 50 years since the peak industry body was established back in 1972. - QFF has welcomed the Queensland government’s announcement of increased investments in Biosecurity and feral pig controls. The Palaszczuk Government has announced that they will recruit a specialised squad of trained biosecurity officers to boost the state’s frontline defences against outbreaks of devastating Foot and Mouth and Lumpy Skin Diseases. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Queensland and Australia are facing unprecedented biosecurity risks and the more than $20 million package of initiatives are aimed at dealing with the threats.
